Sang (stone in Farsi) was a shield shaped tool made originally form stone and later replaced by wood. A pair of Sangs were used to strengthen the Pahlevan’s body to hold shields in combat.

A ‘Pahlevan’ though is more than just a war hero. The title was born in Parthian Empire and has lived through two millennia in Iran. It’s the weight of history that has brought humility to its strength and chivalry to its glory.
