pahlevoon series

‘pahlevoon’ informal of ‘pahlevan’ in farsi means hero or a champion. The roots of phalevani in Iran dates back to Shahnameh (The Book of Kings) the most famous Persian epic poem written by Ferdowsi.

Shahnameh is filled with heroes and villains but only two characters reach the level of Pahlevani: Rostam and Sohrab. A father and son whom still to this day are spoken about as symbols of what a Pahlevan is.
